RISKWORLD 2026 has ended. RIMS listed 3–6 May 2026 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The countdown on the official page has completed. This briefing is a recap of what a risk manager should have prepared, not a preview of next year. For the next conference, use the official RIMS RISKWORLD page and rims.org. We do not invent 2027 dates. Last checked 25 August 2026. Reinsured.AI does not host, sponsor, or organise RISKWORLD. Trademarks belong to RIMS. The official button on this page still goes to the organiser.

What this meeting was for in the placement calendar

RISKWORLD sits in the spring, well before Monte Carlo’s September bilateral week and before 1/1 placement pressure. For a corporate risk manager it is the buyer-side gathering: programme structure, deductibles, total insured values, claims as-at, and the vendor marketplace that surrounds those files. It is not a reinsurance Rendez-Vous. Indications for a treaty layer were not the point of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Getting your own schedule of values honest before the summer placing season was.

Who should have treated it as an operations week: risk managers who owe a current SOV to a broker, claims leads who owe a run that matches the policy years they will discuss, and procurement people who will be asked to evaluate “AI” booths with the same mystery-shop tests used at ITC. Who should not have treated it as Monte Carlo: treaty brokers hoping for a 1/1 table. Wrong season, wrong room.

What it was not. It was not Airmic, which is the UK risk-management conference (that edition was in June in Birmingham). It was not RVS. It was not SIRC. It was not a place to invent next year’s ISO dates in a recap. If you need 2027, open rims.org.

Spring is when many insureds should freeze an internal SOV cut before brokers start assembling 1 July or 1 January files. A conference is a reminder, not a substitute for an as-at date on the workbook. Cedent reporting is the outbound reinsurance-file job if you cede. Insurance AI is the wider cluster if you were walking the expo.

What a risk manager should have prepared

The prep pack for RISKWORLD was not a badge strategy. It was the same objects a broker will later put in a zip: current SOV with an as-at date, a loss run that matches the years of account you will talk about, programme structure (limits, deductibles, layers) you can cite to a page, and a gap list for what finance has not yet signed. A vendor booth tour is not a pack.

Chase list a risk manager should have carried in May — and should still close if they did not:

How do reinsurers manage catastrophe risk? is useful context if CAT is in the programme, but it does not replace your SOV. What is a loss ratio in reinsurance? is a definition, not a dashboard you invent from a booth. What is insurance AI? if you were shopping tools. Mystery-shop those tools with a conflict, not with a slogan. The autumn version of that walk is ITC Vegas 2026.

If you cede, May was early enough to fix reporting exhibits before year-end lag fights. Bordereaux that do not foot become queries. See cedent reporting. New York-facing programmes: markets/newyork.

We do not copy RIMS session titles. The official site had the programme. This recap is the file you should have had in the bag.

How it differed from a reinsurance Rendez-Vous

Monte Carlo 2026 is 5–9 September at the Fairmont, bilateral 1/1, organised by RVS. RISKWORLD was 3–6 May in Philadelphia, organised by RIMS, risk managers and the service market around them. Different organiser, different season, different pack. A current SOV in May is an input to a September table. They are not the same meeting.

Airmic Annual 2026 was the UK analogue in June at the ICC Birmingham. If you attended both, you still needed one honest schedule, not two souvenir tote bags. CIAB ILF is broker leadership in October, often gated — the other side of the placing relationship. Insurtech Insights Europe was a London innovation conference in March, already completed.

Do not write “RISKWORLD 2027 will be on [date]” in an internal wiki based on this page. We will not. RIMS publishes the next edition. Use rims.org and the RISKWORLD official page.

ACME Construction Ltd recap

ACME Construction Ltd (acme.example) is the fictional insured this site uses. Slip unsigned, TIV 42 million versus SOV 47.1 million because a warehouse was added after the slip was typed, hours clause missing, SOV as-at missing, USD 10 million occurrence on slip page 2.

What ACME’s risk manager should have prepared before May, and what a recap still requires if those items are open:

If that risk manager walked the expo and watched a demo invent a hours clause, they should have walked away. Source-grounded extraction is the test. The pack inspector still shows the conflict. Production files stay in the company, not on a show-floor laptop.

If ACME cedes a facultative share, the same incomplete pack becomes the file a reinsurer will query. Do not wait for September to discover the warehouse. That was the point of a spring conference recap.
