The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers lists the Insurance Leadership Forum as 2–6 October 2026 in Colorado Springs. It is a broker-leadership meeting, often gated, not a public treaty Rendez-Vous. Confirm dates, eligibility, and registration on the official CIAB Insurance Leadership Forum page. Last checked 25 August 2026. Reinsured.AI does not host, sponsor, or organise the ILF. The official button on this page already goes to The Council. Trademarks belong to The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers.
What this meeting is for in the placement calendar
ILF sits in early October, after ITC Vegas and after Monte Carlo, before SIRC and PLUS. The calendar job is how broker offices actually run: producers, placing technicians, mailbox discipline, client-file completeness, and the leadership choices that either fund a chase-list process or keep re-keying. It is not the week you indicate a CAT layer. It is not a public expo floor. Materials and registration are often member-gated. If you are not supposed to be there, this briefing will not get you in.
Who should prepare: brokerage principals, heads of placement ops, and the people who own the submissions mailbox grant. Cedent risk managers looking for RISKWORLD energy are in the wrong recap — that conference was in May and is completed. Treaty underwriters looking for 1/1 tables should have been in Monaco in September or should be planning Singapore in November.
What this meeting is not. It is not Monte Carlo. It is not SIRC. It is not PLUS. It is not ITC. It is not a scraped delegate list. We do not publish who attends. The Council’s site is the source for eligibility.
Broker operations, as this site describes them, are inbox then pack then market. The brokers hub is the long form. ILF is where leaders decide whether that loop is a standard or a heroics culture. Bring evidence of incomplete packs, not a vision deck about distribution.
Prep pack and chase list
You are probably not placing a facultative risk in the mountains. You are still accountable for whether your offices send complete files in October. Prep is an internal ops pack: how submissions arrive, whether the mailbox grant is read-only and scoped, whether chase lists regenerate when SOV v3 lands, whether slip-versus-SOV conflicts are visible or averaged in a worksheet.
Leadership chase list before ILF:
- Can we point at a cited attachment on a recent file, or only at a producer email?
- Do we still send unsigned slips with covering notes that sound bound?
- What happens when TIV disagrees across documents? Average, hide, or chase?
- Is the v1 connector conversation (if any) read-only, or did someone ask IT for send-as-producer?
- Which offices still treat the inbox as memory?
- Scam watch: registration links that are not ciab.com or a Cvent hostname The Council actually sent.
Bring one anonymised or fictional example of a pack your firm would be ashamed to send. ACME is available if you cannot sanitise a real one. Do not bring live client files to a leadership forum wifi. Do not upload them to this website. Pack inspector is the public walkthrough.

How it differs from Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo is bilateral 1/1 at the Fairmont, organised by RVS, 5–9 September 2026. ILF is The Council’s leadership forum in Colorado Springs, 2–6 October 2026. Different organiser, different gate, different pack. A treaty indication does not belong on the ILF agenda you invent in your notes, and we will not invent The Council’s programme either. Use ciab.com.
ITC Vegas is the week before (29 September–1 October), innovation not leadership. Do not treat a Mandalay Bay booth tour as preparation for ILF, or ILF as a vendor bake-off. SIRC in November is Asia treaty. PLUS is professional liability. RISKWORLD in May was risk managers, completed.
Gating is the practical difference. Monte Carlo has its own RVS rules on the official site. ILF is often password-protected or member-only. Third-party pages that look like registration are a live risk. Official domains: ciab.com, and Cvent links that originate from The Council. If an email uses a lookalike hostname, a shortened URL with no Council header, or a request to wire a fee to a personal account, stop. We do not publish fees. We do not list delegates. We do tell you to distrust scammers.
ACME Construction Ltd as an operations story
ACME Construction Ltd (acme.example) is the fictional file: unsigned slip, TIV 42 million on the slip versus 47.1 million on the SOV because a warehouse was added, hours clause missing, SOV as-at missing, USD 10 million occurrence on page 2. At Monte Carlo it is a pack you would not take to a table. At ILF it is the story you tell other principals about how a branch still works.
The leadership questions ACME forces:
- Who let an unsigned slip leave the building? Process or heroics?
- Who typed 47.1 into the slip box to “help the market”? That person is the conflict. Training issue, system issue, or incentive issue?
- Who is chasing hours clause, and does the chase list die when the producer flies to Colorado?
- Would a read-only mailbox ingest have surfaced the warehouse before the quote went out on 42 million?
Walk the inspector so the story is about spans, not about blaming an assistant. Source-grounded extraction is the behaviour to demand from tools. Facultative reinsurance is the placing topic. Software that sends mail as the broker is a different trust boundary from a read-only grant. Keep those sentences separate in any vendor conversation you have after ILF, including at ITC if you attended both.
If your firm also places professional lines, do not use ACME as the PLUS example. Use retro date and tower conflicts. ACME is property. Mixing lines in a leadership anecdote is how the room nods and nobody changes a mailbox.
Questions people actually ask
Is ILF open like Monte Carlo? No. Expect Council registration and often gated event sites. Use the official forum page, not a sponsored result that cloned the name.
I got a Cvent link. Is it safe? Cvent is a real event-registration vendor. Safety is whether The Council sent it from ciab.com or a known Council address. Lookalike Cvent-ish pages and PDF invoices from strangers are the scam pattern. When unsure, start at ciab.com and walk to the event from there.
Do we need a CAT pack? No. You need an honest ops example and a chase-list standard. CAT theatre is Monte Carlo.
Can we collect a delegate list from this briefing? No. We do not publish one. Scraped lists are how phishing starts.
Should we announce that we host a reception? Not on this site, and not as Reinsured.AI. We do not host or sponsor ILF. If your firm hosts something, that is your firm, on your letterhead, with The Council’s rules.
What operations topic belongs? How offices assemble packs, chase lists, and mailbox ingest without sending as the producer. See broker operations.
