Insurtech Insights Europe 2026 has ended. The organiser listed 18–19 March 2026 at InterContinental London — The O2. This briefing is a recap of how an operations buyer should have tested vendors in London, and how that week differed from ITC Vegas. Later editions are listed on the organiser’s site; we do not copy those dates until this briefing is re-verified, and we do not invent a 2027 ISO date here. Last checked 25 August 2026. What this meeting was for in the placement calendar

March in London is early for 1/1 placement and on time for budget cycles, architecture reviews, and “we should look at AI” programmes that otherwise collapse into a chatbot licence. The calendar job was vendor selection and category discipline: generic LLM, template IDP, or source-grounded reinsurance operations. It was not a treaty Rendez-Vous. Nobody should have indicated a CAT layer at The O2 and called it placement.

Who should have walked it like an operator: document-ops leads, placing technicians, cedent reporting owners, and London-market operations people who already live in markets/london. Who should have stayed focused on files rather than stages: anyone about to grant a mailbox. Read-only, scoped, revocable — or do not grant.

What it was not. It was not ITC Vegas 2026, which is 29 September–1 October 2026 at Mandalay Bay under InsureTech Connect. Different organiser, city, and season. It was not Monte Carlo. It was not Airmic (June, ICC Birmingham, risk managers). It was not a licence to upload live packs to a start-up. Sample only. This website still does not take live client packs.

The reading that should have preceded the badge: insurance AI, source-grounded extraction, AI vs IDP vs reinsurance ops, What is insurance AI?, What is IDP in insurance?, Can AI replace underwriters?. Humans still triage, price, and quote. Software that binds a layer because a model was confident has failed the trust test.

How a buyer should have tested vendors

Prep was a mystery-shop kit, not a placing zip. One file with a known cited limit, a known slip-versus-SOV conflict, and a known missing hours clause. ACME Construction Ltd exists for that. A written refusal to hand over production data. A data-path question about tenancy and audit. A category label so you could hear when a chatbot was being sold as bordereaux infrastructure.

Chase list a buyer should have used in March — and should still use when watching recordings or following up:

We do not copy the 2026 session agenda. The organiser published it. This recap is the test file and the questions. If your notes are only speaker names, you attended a conference and did not mystery-shop.

After the event, the remaining work is internal: which vendors failed ACME, which demanded data, which belong in a tenant pilot with a revocable grant. Reinsurance AI is the topic hub for the third job. Pack inspector is still the public behaviour check.

How it differed from ITC Vegas

ITC Vegas is InsureTech Connect, Mandalay Bay, 29 September–1 October 2026, a larger US innovation week in autumn. Insurtech Insights Europe 2026 was a two-day London community conference in March at InterContinental London — The O2. Do not reuse one booth-note template as if the product market were identical, and do not assume a vendor who failed in London will pass in Las Vegas without the same ACME test.

Placement contrast, because diaries get messy: Monte Carlo is September bilateral 1/1. SIRC is November Asia. PLUS is professional liability in November. CIAB ILF is broker leadership in October. RISKWORLD and Airmic were risk-manager conferences in May and June, both completed. London Europe in March was none of those.

Next Insurtech Insights dates: official site only. The organiser’s site lists later editions. We will not copy those dates onto this 2026 recap until we re-verify them for a new year page. Do not invent 2027 ISO dates in your wiki and attribute them to Reinsured.AI.

If you will attend ITC after missing the London tests, take the same three questions: source span, slip versus SOV conflict, sample pack versus live files. Link them from the ITC Vegas briefing. Category reading stays AI vs IDP vs reinsurance ops.

ACME Construction Ltd as the London test file

ACME Construction Ltd (acme.example): unsigned slip; TIV 42 million on the slip versus 47.1 million on the SOV because a warehouse was added; hours clause missing; SOV as-at missing; USD 10,000,000 occurrence on slip page 2.

What should have happened at The O2:

The warehouse is the point. London placing culture already knows slip-versus-SOV fights. A conference demo that hides the warehouse to look complete is selling against the market you work in. London market does not change the extraction contract.

If a vendor used ACME and then asked to connect to submissions@your-firm overnight, the next sentence is read-only mailbox, scoped folder, revoke. Broker operations. Writing chase mail as you is a different permission.

The same file remains the inspector sample. If your March notes say “impressive accuracy” and do not mention 42 versus 47.1, the notes are marketing. Rewrite them.
