ITC Vegas 2026 is an insurance-innovation conference, not a treaty placement week. InsureTech Connect lists 29 September–1 October 2026 at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. Confirm tickets and house rules on the official ITC Vegas site. Last checked 25 August 2026. This briefing is how an operations buyer should walk the floor. We do not copy their session agenda. Reinsured.AI does not host, sponsor, or organise ITC. The official button on this page already goes to the organiser. Trademarks belong to InsureTech Connect.
What this meeting is for in the placement calendar
ITC sits between Monte Carlo (5–9 September) and the CIAB forum (2–6 October) on a 2026 diary. That is a travel fact, not a reason to bring a 1/1 treaty zip as if Mandalay Bay were the Fairmont. The calendar job here is vendor selection, architecture conversations, and mystery-shopping tools that claim to read slips. The placement job stays in your tenant and in your mailbox. If you use this week to “get a rate” on a CAT layer, you are in the wrong building.
Who should attend like an operator: heads of document ops, placing technicians who have been promised that re-keying will end, cedent reporting leads tired of bordereaux mapping theatre, and security people who will be asked to approve a mailbox grant. Who should not treat it as a market: treaty underwriters who need a cited attachment for 1/1. Send them to Monte Carlo or SIRC.
What this meeting is not. It is not Rendez-Vous. It is not SIRC. It is not PLUS. It is not a substitute for Insurtech Insights Europe, which already ran in London in March under a different organiser. It is not a place to upload live client packs to a booth laptop. Sample files only. Production ingest is tenant-scoped and revocable. This website does not take live packs either. Use the pack inspector.
The useful frame is insurance AI versus reinsurance AI versus a chatbot. Three jobs get sold as one category on a show floor. The comparison in prose is AI vs IDP vs reinsurance ops. The field contract is source-grounded extraction. Read those before you collect stickers.
Prep pack and chase list for a buyer, not a placing file
You do not need a treaty board for ITC. You need a mystery-shop kit: one fictional or sanitised pack with a known conflict, a known gap, and a known cited field. ACME Construction Ltd is built for that. You also need a question list that does not come from the organiser’s agenda. You need a data-path question: where files go, whether a mailbox grant is read-only, whether anyone can send as you. You need a refusal to discuss live files at a booth.
Buyer chase list before you fly:
- Written list of three tests: source span on a limit, behaviour on slip-versus-SOV conflict, sample pack versus a request for your live files.
- Named owner who will not hand over a client zip.
- Security questions: tenant, audit log, revoke. See broker mailbox habits on solutions/brokers.
- A short internal note on what you already run: template IDP, a generic LLM workspace, nothing. So you can hear category errors.
- Links, not PDFs of scraped agendas. Official site for sessions. This page for tests.
After the floor, your chase list is internal: which vendors averaged TIV, which invented a hours clause, which demanded production data to “make the demo real,” which could show a span. That list is the work remaining, not a stack of brochures.
Do not prepare a placing chase list for a CAT programme as if this were Monte Carlo. If a vendor wants to talk 1/1, ask them to show the ACME conflict first. If they cannot, the 1/1 story is a completion engine.
How it differs from Insurtech Insights Europe and from placement weeks
Insurtech Insights Europe 2026 was 18–19 March 2026 at InterContinental London — The O2. Different organiser, city, and calendar. London Europe is a two-day community conference. ITC Vegas is a larger US innovation week in autumn. Do not reuse one badge plan, one set of booth notes, or one “the conference said” summary. For next London dates, use the organiser’s site only. We do not invent them here.
Placement weeks: Monte Carlo is bilateral 1/1. SIRC is Asia treaty in November. PLUS is professional liability. CIAB ILF is broker leadership, often gated. ITC is none of those. If a founder tells you their product replaces the Fairmont table, you learned enough.
IDP vendors and LLM vendors will both be on the floor. Template IDP is the right tool for stable layouts. Generic models complete text and will fill a missing hours clause. Source-grounded ops emit empty plus a chase item. The guide AI vs IDP vs reinsurance ops exists so you do not buy a chatbot and still re-key bordereaux. Answers: Insurance AI vs ChatGPT, What is IDP in insurance?, What is source-grounded extraction?.
ACME Construction Ltd as the test file
ACME Construction Ltd (acme.example): Slip.pdf page 2 occurrence limit USD 10,000,000. Slip TIV 42 million. SOV.xlsx total 47.1 million because a warehouse was added. Hours clause not in the pack. SOV as-at not in the pack. Slip unsigned. That is the file.
Mystery-shop questions, in this order:
- Source span. Ask where the 10 million lives. You want document, page, span. A paragraph that restates 10 million is not a span. If they highlight page 2, good. If they say the model is confident, stop.
- Slip versus SOV conflict. Ask for TIV. The honest output is two numbers and two sources, on a chase list as a conflict. Averaging to 44.55 million fails. Picking the SOV “because it is more detailed” fails. Picking the slip and hiding the warehouse fails. Completing a single TIV box because the UI has one field fails.
- Sample pack versus live files. If the booth cannot run ACME or their own sample and instead wants your client zip, you are not in a demo. You are in a data grab. This marketing site uses a sample only. Demand the same discipline on the floor.
- Hours clause. Ask for the window. The honest output is empty plus a chase item. Invented 72 hours fails. “Market standard” fails.
- Unsigned slip. Ask whether the file is ready to send to market. Ready-to-send on an unsigned slip fails.
Walk the same behaviour on the pack inspector before you go, so you know what conflict-versus-gap looks like when nobody is selling. Source-grounded extraction is the contract you are testing, not a slogan on a booth wall.
If a vendor passes ACME and then asks to connect a mailbox, the next test is read-only, scoped, revocable — not send-as-you hidden in a connector. Broker hub: solutions/brokers.
Questions people actually ask
Can we skip Monte Carlo because ITC is closer to 1/1 on the calendar? No. One is placement. One is vendors. 29 September is not a treaty table.
Should we copy the agenda into our internal briefing? No. We do not copy it here either. Use the official ITC Vegas site for sessions. Your internal note should be the three tests and the data-path questions.
What accuracy percentage should we demand? None without a method. A percentage without ACME-style conflicts is theatre. See the ops guide rather than a scoreboard.
Is this the same as Insurtech Insights in London? No. Different organiser and season. The 2026 London edition is already completed. Next London dates: official Insurtech Insights site only.
Can we send live bordereaux to a start-up in a hall? No. Sample or sanitised only. Production stays in the tenant.
Will they have a hours-clause panel? We will not invent or copy sessions. Ask the hours-clause question at the booth regardless of the stage.
