The 22nd Singapore International Reinsurance Conference is the Asia treaty-renewal gathering after Monte Carlo. The Singapore Reinsurers' Association lists 1–5 November 2026 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Confirm dates on the official SIRC event page and register on the SIRC 2026 registration site. Last checked 25 August 2026. This page is an operator briefing. Reinsured.AI does not host, sponsor, or organise SIRC. The official button on this page already goes to the organiser. What this meeting is for in the placement calendar
SIRC sits on the Asian side of the 1/1 and year-end renewal season. Monte Carlo in early September is the bilateral open for many international programmes. SIRC in early November is where Asia-facing boards, regional cedents, and the Singapore market finish conversations that were only sketched in Europe, or that never went to Monaco at all. If your diary treats Singapore as a sightseeing add-on to the Fairmont week, you will take the wrong pack.
The job in the room is still a file a following market can post: treaty structure, territorial scope that matches the Asian book, class, exclusions, hours clause where CAT is in play, reinstatement, and reporting exhibits the counterparty actually uses. Treaty reinsurance is the topic hub. Reinsurer operations is the inbound mirror. Singapore market is the local map. Do not replace those with a keynote summary.
Who should prepare like an operator: regional placing brokers, cedent reinsurance managers whose programme is written into Singapore or Labuan or Hong Kong as well as London, and treaty underwriters who will be asked for indications on Asian property, casualty, and specialty. Facultative exists in the same hotels. It still needs its own zip. A warehouse SOV is not a quota-share bordereaux.
What this meeting is not. It is not a substitute for Monte Carlo. It is not Baden-Baden. It is not an innovation expo. It is not PLUS, which is professional liability in San Diego the following week. Calendar adjacency is not product adjacency. SIRC is treaty and market conversation for Asia. Bring the Asia file.
November is late in the European 1/1 cycle and on time for many Asian renewals and for programmes that still need a second sitting. What is an October 1st renewal in reinsurance? remains a custom, not this conference. If a Japanese or Korean board has its own local season, do not flatten it into a generic “Asia 1/1” slide. Name the inception on the pack cover.
Prep pack and chase list
Prep for SIRC is a current treaty pack plus the reporting samples Singapore-facing markets will ask about. Wording excerpts that govern. Attachment and limit with spans. Territorial definition that includes or excludes the countries you will discuss. Class and excluded class. Hours clause if the book has CAT. Reinstatement. Currency and as-at for any FX. Bordereaux samples that foot — premium, claims, and commission as separate jobs, not one dump. See What are bordereaux in reinsurance? and the cedent view on cedent reporting.
Chase list items that stall an Asia table:
- Territorial scope on the slip or treaty that still reads like a European wording with Asia added in a covering email.
- Bordereaux sample with no treaty year on the cover, or a Q cut that rolls into the next year without a basis.
- Hours clause missing on a property CAT conversation.
- Loss experience with no as-at, or a large-loss list that omits an event everyone in the region already knows about.
- Facultative ACME-style zip mixed into a treaty board because the same broker folder held both.
- Unsigned placing document presented as if capacity were already written.
- SOV or exposure exhibit with no as-at date.
A cited attachment still matters in November. If the layer is excess of a number, that number lives on a page. If someone “updated” it in a spreadsheet after Monte Carlo, the pack should say which version you are discussing and show the span. Current SOV or current exposure: the workbook in the zip, dated. Chase list: regenerate when Singapore mail arrives in October. A Fairmont PDF reprinted with a new cover sheet is not a chase list.
Do not pad the zip with Monte Carlo hotel notes, a copied agenda, or three years of unclassified Excel. Extra files create extra conflicts. Source-grounded extraction is how a total stays a total you can defend. This website does not take live client packs. Use the pack inspector for the fictional walkthrough. Production ingest stays in the tenant.
If you are a reinsurer inbound, the prep is the inverse: how you will test a file against wording when you get back to the office. Exception list for rows that fail class or territory. Do not promise in the corridor that you will “sort the mapping later” if the sample already does not foot. Later is how year-end becomes a dispute.
How it differs from Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo Rendez-Vous 2026 is 5–9 September 2026 at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo, organised by RVS. It is the bilateral week ahead of 1/1 for a global set of programmes. SIRC is afterwards, in Singapore, with a different organiser, a different venue, and a different mix of cedents. Many programmes need both. Some Asia-centric programmes need SIRC and never needed a Monaco table. Do not reuse one pack as if the second week were a carbon copy.
Baden-Baden, when it runs, is the later European follow-through. We do not publish 2026 dates for it here because we did not verify them on an official organiser URL. If you still need a European October sitting, use the Official Baden-Baden portal. Do not invent ISO dates in your SIRC briefing slides either.
Other confusable neighbours: ITC Vegas is 29 September–1 October 2026, an innovation conference, not treaty placement. CIAB ILF is US broker leadership. PLUS is 10–12 November 2026 — calendar-close to SIRC, product-distant. A claims-made tower is not a Singapore property treaty. Insurtech Insights Europe already happened in London in March. Different organiser, different job.
The Singapore market is not a timezone on a London slip. Local reporting habits, currency, and the counterparties who actually sit in Sands Expo change what “complete” means. Read markets/singapore before you photocopy a Continental board.
ACME Construction Ltd at an Asia treaty table
ACME Construction Ltd (acme.example) is the fictional facultative file on this site: unsigned slip, TIV 42 million on the slip versus 47.1 million on the SOV because a warehouse was added, hours clause missing, SOV as-at missing, occurrence limit USD 10,000,000 on slip page 2. It is a pack you would not take to Monte Carlo. It is also a pack you would not smuggle into a SIRC treaty conversation.
Three ways ACME shows up wrongly in November:
- Someone files it in the same zip as a quota-share exhibit because the broker’s “Asia property” folder held both. The following market prices a warehouse and misses the board.
- Someone uses the TIV split as a cute story about data quality and then still presents a treaty total that cannot be footed. Anecdote is not a span.
- Someone assumes that because the insured is construction, the hours clause can be “market standard” for a Singapore CAT conversation. Empty is the honest state. Invented 72 hours is a claim waiting.
If you must discuss a facultative construction risk on the same trip, give it its own pack and its own appointment. Chase list for ACME remains: sign the slip or stop calling it placed; resolve the warehouse (amend slip, drop location, or tell the market the schedule moved); obtain a hours clause excerpt; obtain an SOV as-at. Walk the inspector rather than restating the numbers from memory. How to build a facultative submission pack is the document list.
If ACME were instead a name on a treaty bordereaux row, the test would be whether that premium belongs in subject business: class, territory, period. A construction certificate sitting on a marine treaty file is a query, not colour. Cedents: keep facultative certificates on the files that match that contract. See cedent reporting.
Questions people actually ask
Is SIRC a substitute if we skipped Monte Carlo? Sometimes, for an Asia-only programme. Not for a European board that still needs a September sitting. Skipping Monaco and hoping Singapore repairs an incomplete file just moves the chase list by two months.
Can we bring the same PDF we used at the Fairmont? Only if the chase items closed and the territorial exhibit matches what you will discuss. If the warehouse appeared in October mail, you do not have the same PDF.
Do we register on sg-reinsurers.org.sg or sirc.com.sg? The Association’s event page and the registration hostname are both official in the sense this briefing cites them. Use those URLs, not a lookalike domain that appeared in an unsolicited email. Start at the official SIRC event page and the registration site.
Will reinsurers want bordereaux in the room? They will want to know you can produce a file that maps to wording. Bring samples that foot and an as-at. Do not bring a scan of a printout you cannot sum.
What about Hong Kong or Tokyo counterparties who are not “Singapore”? They may still be in the building. They still need a named territory and a named inception. See Hong Kong and Tokyo only as market hubs, not as invented event pages.
Should we pitch software between sessions? Only with a sample pack and a question about spans. SIRC is not ITC. Do not turn a cedent slot into a product demo.
